Volunteer

Do you want to acquire new skills? Meet new people? Put your talents and passion to good use? Then you might want to think about becoming a Bramble volunteer. You will be able to build up a relationship with highly interesting and charismatic people who have overcome adversity and have the guts to create a mindset change in their surrounding.

Volunteering can be done in different ways:

Share our story: Spread the news about what Bramble is doing in various communities. You can help us find new beneficiaries/communities, attract passionate educators, catalysts, volunteers or potential donors.
Volunteering from home: For example you could help out with design, social media, newsletters, translations, write ups etc.
Come and join us in Arikanki village: We always can use motivated, dedicated and technically gifted volunteers who can help out on maintenance, sustainable projects, IT, and many other interesting activities. In order to make a stay worthwhile we prefer a minimum period of three weeks.
Bramble offers lodging: The demand for voluntary positions is high, while the accommodation facility available is limited. Hence, we have to be selective and can only take a few residential volunteers per time. Every volunteer will have to go through an application process. We prefer to have volunteers who are available for the duration of at least one or more quarters. Volunteers will be responsible for their own food and personal care.
Volunteer for Local Partners: Join one of the projects we are currently running in various villages across Nigeria. This might include technical assistance, teaching, administrative tasks, etc.

Basic Requirement to be a Volunteer

  1. Residential volunteers must be above 18 years of age.
  2. Good verbal and written English skills.
  3. Positive attitude and value system.
  4. High level of motivation.
  5. High level of ownership, taking initiatives and self management.
Please note, Bramble being a nonprofit organisation is not able to bear the cost of professional fees/remuneration or any travel/transportation cost for any resource person. However, we would love to host you in the village when you visit us.
